Police plan to show stab victim Abigail Witchalls pictures of several suspects, in the hope she will be able to identify the attacker who left her paralysed from the neck down.

Among the pictures will be one of Richard Cazaly who died five days after Witchalls was stabbed in the neck as the 26-year-old pushed her toddler home in his pushchair.

"We hope to get the pictures together sometime this week," a spokeswoman for Surrey police said on Monday.

Cazaly, 23, who lived near Witchalls in the village of Little Bookham, Surrey, travelled to Scotland after the attack where he died of a suspected drug overdose.

Although initial DNA tests on Cazaly's trousers have shown no link with Witchalls, police say he remains a suspect.

"More DNA tests are going on. We hope they will point to a suspect or will eliminate him," the spokeswoman said.

Police were also working on information given after a reconstruction of the attack was shown on the BBC's "Crimewatch" programme last week.

The television reconstruction prompted around 60 calls to police, including one man who said he may have seen the attacker running away.

Witchalls described her attacker as 20-35 years old, between 5 foot 10 inches and 6 foot 4 inches (1.8 and 2 metres), with short scruffy hair, a long thin pale face with black bags under his eyes and prominent cheekbones.

Witchalls said last Wednesday sensation was returning to her body and that she was able to speak for brief periods.
